Au revoir pour maintenant, mon ami

A good friend of mine is following her heart and moving to Paris! She got me started making jewelry, so I am eternally grateful for that. She has taught me so much, and really inspired me in my jewelry techniques. We met over 10 years ago when I first lived on my own after moving to California, and she came to my wedding nine years ago - one of the few California friends I have that did. I remember one evening at about 11 pm I called her in a panic because I was trying to self-teach myself how to solder, and I couldn't get it to hold. I was doing everything wrong, had all the wrong tools, but I was determined to get it done. Thankfully she showed me the proper way to solder. We had many great evenings of jewelry making and boutique planning, and several very successful boutiques that we co-hosted.

Last night we had a great dinner at Daisy Mint to celebrate my friends' new path. The Asian Fusion restaurant had a great artsy atmosphere with attentive service. We started with the Peanut Dumplings and Tofu Delight, both were excellent. We had the Panang Curry with Tofu and brown rice on the side. The use of pumpkin in the dish sealed the deal for me. My first spoon of the curry vindicated our choice. The taste of the spicy coconut based gravy and vegetables blending with the sweetness of the pumpkin was tantalizing to say the least....a taste explosion! We also had the Sizzling Seafood (shrimp, scallop, black mussels, crab and basil with spicy chili & garlic sauce)

I will for sure miss her company, inspiration, and knowledge. She is a talented jeweler and a great teacher. Goodbye for now my friend, I wish you as much health and happiness as the world has to offer. May your new path be filled with many blessings.
