I am so sad hearing this and was wondering what had transpired...since you went silent for a time about her.Totally understandably.. processing this and the setbacks, well, please take your time..it is so worth doing a well rounded approach, as Kate described..and give it time. Sometimes laying low and allowing the horse to be a horse...can heal many issues, I have found out... the hard way.
She does the best for you and you take such good care of her.
Be praying for your horsey and you!
XO
Kacallhorsestuffhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05301081722884351021noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7534612717474561402.post-79902511297296534112010-07-09T05:21:01.893-07:002010-07-09T05:21:01.893-07:00Oh man, so frustrating. I think like with anything else you just have to keep trying til you find something that works. A young mare that belongs to a friend of mine in a similar program to Mazzy's recently had her stifles injected (not IRAP, just the usual) and it made a world of difference in her flat work and attitude. I guess it's not too uncommon for there to be weekness/soreness in the stifle even at a young age and in light work. I really hope you figure out what works for your girl soon. In my experience, most vets are good on joints/tendons/ligaments, but not so good on muscular/body soreness issues. Good luck, and that's good that you're going with the least invasive treatments - too many people rush to do the other stuff without pursuing all options.

Also, what's her turnout? With her issues, all-day turnout - or even 24/7, might make a big difference.

Good luck!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7534612717474561402.post-61498069205202127092010-07-08T16:49:55.995-07:002010-07-08T16:49:55.995-07:00Oh my! always rotten when they are having troubles...Oh my! always rotten when they are having troubles , but esp when she is so young!
