I made soap tonight....from scratch.
I've read alot about how fantastic salt bars are, so I decided to make some. The recipe I used produces a luxurious salt soap bar or 'spa soap' that is a wonderfully creamy soap and creates a thick lotion-like lather which is conditioning to the skin. It very gently exfoliates yet does not feel scratchy at all. It will cleanse the pores helping excreate the daily toxins & pollutants the skin is exposed to. I used an ocean scent in it which smells so good, clean, and relaxing! My whole house smells like it right now.
I can't wait until it cures, so I can try it out!

I am so amzed when someone tries something new like this. The only "new" thing I ever try is what "Starbucks sandwich for my ride lunch!!!
I've been wanting to try my hand at making cold process soaps. I have done melt and pour glycerin soaps in the past but I really want to try the cold process soaps. I have all the ingredients I need, I just need to get up the courage to try it. I don't want to mess it up. A friend of mine who makes soaps told me what her husband originally told her when she first started making soaps: "try it - nobody is going to die if it doesn't turn out!" So one of these days, I'm going to! Great job on your soaps. Can't wait to hear how they "work"!
Cool! Let us know how it is!
Once you start using real soap, hand made soap and french milled soap you find you can't even go down the soap isle at the store because it smells so bad. So I would say in my wicked Maine accent, "That ain't no Irish Spring you got ther'a". Kudos for making that! Nice. Loved the river photos!
Wow! That's a lotta soap. Very inspiring!
very courageous! They look like they turned out good!
My, my! You have been busy!! I turn my back on you for a few months and you're making soaps, ointments, gazpacho...you name it!
I love Mazzy girl's ears in the trail riding pix. So cute. The videos of her are fun too! She's just lovely! - Jana
I think this will definitely become one of my favorite items.
