I heard from Chad this morning, his crew is fighting the fires at the Westmont College campus. The devastation is unbelievable. From what I last heard on the news at least 100 homes and college buildings were destroyed, and 13 people injured. The 70 mile per hour winds made fighting the fire nearly impossible. I have friends very close and heard that it is within a block of their house, and a house of someone I know we think is gone. This really puts life in perspective, and teaches me how much I have to be thankful for.

Hope your friends and family members stay safe ,it must be terrifying to have so much devastaion nearby.
Keeping good thoughts and prayers
Wow..thats all I can say! Life is so precious.
wishing Chad is safe - I've been hearing about the Montecillo fires, and can't imagine what a hell everyone is going through. I went to school and lived in Santa Barbara many moons ago. It was beautiful then, I'm sure it still is, but I don't remember all the wildfires. Must be more people living in the hills...
I can't really imagine just how terrifying that must be! Sending all good wishes to everyone involved.
I hate you all are having to deal with wild fires again.
I hope everyone makes it out safe and sound and the fire will be contained soon.
Good thoughts from Georgia.
Pam
I'm so sorry for all of the people this is happening to in California.
My thoughts and prayers are with Chad and you. On a happier note, I gave you the "I Love Your Blog Award". See my blog at http://hammelmanart.blogspot.com
My heart goes out to y'all! My dad, stepmom, sister, and my best friend and her family live in San Diego. They have had to evacuate the last round of fires. My best friend and her family lost their home to the fires 5 years ago, finally rebuilt and have moved in within the last six months.
