Luckily I had a good ride tonight because on the way home it started to rain, and another storm is on its way in on Friday. There were a couple of deer at the barn tonight, luckily no bears. It is nice to unwind with the horses after a day at the office.
Play keeps us vital and alive. It gives us an enthusiasm for life that is irreplaceable. Without it, life just doesn't taste good.

Well, I am back to work. I am grateful to be employed, but I sure did like the free time to ride, create and get all the stuff I can never get to done. I was so fortunate to have unseasonably warm sunny weather to enjoy during my few weeks off, it is now back to winter "cold" and rainy.
Here are some more of my recent creations.

This past week I got to ride Kylie every day, something I said I would love to be able to do if I didn't have to work. I've made some new jewels and started on my project list.

I kept myself busy this weekend riding and making jewelry (and watching the news coverage on the fires). Luckily I have a good friend who's husband is with Chad fighting the fires, so we trade info on what we've heard from them at least once a day. We watched the coverage on tv last night together, hoping are guys are ok and that they come home soon. The latest on the fire Chad is fighting, "Corona-Yorba Linda-Anaheim Hills Fire", it is 40 percent contained and has charred 28,889 acres. The weather is taking a turn for the better, and the Santa Ana winds are expected to ease up today.
Here is a preview of some of my new necklace designs:
Horsing Around - This pendant is 99.9% pure fine silver, handmade by me, on a sterling chain. $58
Changing Leaves Necklace - Grossular Garnet and Sterling Rings $65Ametrine Necklace - Ametrine is a naturally occurring marriage of sister gemstones Amethyst and Citrine. The color gradation is created by differing oxidation states of iron within the crystal. $65
Ruby in Fuchsite - Crystals of ruby are embedded in a fuchsite matrix, which makes for a gorgeous kelly green stone with patches of bright magenta pink $58

Saturday morning I rode Murphy, a horse that used to compete in the high jumper divisions, but was donated to my barn into the rehab program. I think he had pulled a bunch of muscles, but is now totally recovered and a ton of fun to jump! The picture is from him at a horse show...cute isn't he? I then got to ride Kylie, and she feels great. Two more weeks until we can start jumping.
